Founded in 1916, the U.S. National Park Service offers travelers 62 national parks from northern Alaska to the Florida Keys, and travelers and road-trippers would actually have to visit 29 states and two U.S. territories to see them all! Be sure to check out the park service’s map to virtually explore all the national parks.

In 1872 (before the official founding of the park service), President Ulysses S. Grant signed into law one of the most popular parks, Yellowstone National Park.
