A single mom, 2 daughters, multiple school and sports activities – that was me at what seemed like a minute ago. Flash forward a couple of decades to me and my husband, 2 married daughters, 2 stepdaughters, 1 “adopted” son, and 6 grandchildren, and this Baby Boomer is back in the driver’s seat again as a Grandma taxi.
Recently I was lucky to get a preview of the new Crawford Hotel in Denver’s renovated Union Station. The 112-room Crawford Hotel opened in July 2014 in the heart of Denver’s Lower Downtown neighborhood.

Rekindling romance with your spouse or significant other is an ongoing process, from your first date to a 50 year marriage. It was a simple act. Really. I didn’t plan to offer this token act of love, a simple task of presenting my hubby with a heaping plate during our family’s recent Thanksgiving feast. An act that had all the men –in-laws from ages 20-73 — stepping back and telling me what an amazing thing I’d just done.
The guys didn’t have to say another word as my hubby grinned from ear-to-ear when I handed him the plate. It made him feel good, and that made me feel good too.
A few years ago, I embarked on a once in a lifetime journey to Israel, the Holy Land. Growing up in the Bible Belt of Iowa, the legendary “land of milk and honey” was discussed often as a faraway land, where none of my family, mere farmers, blue collar workers and “gasp” Iowans would ever get the opportunity to visit. But here I am looking forward to a visit to Galilee, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Negev desert, and Dead Sea. I’m even going to throw in a camel safari and some other such adventures.
