Perhaps the best place to be on St. Patrick’s Day is Ireland, and after that, adventure to your local St. Patrick’s Day parade (Denver has one of the best!). And then perhaps an equally satisfying alternative is to channel your inner Irish on St. Paddy’s day with these delightfully tasty St. Patrick’s Day cocktails. “Sláinte!” and “tá fáilte romhat.” (Salute/Cheers and You’re welcome!)
But sadly, too much green beer fills me up. Here’s an alternative to green beer with the traditional St. Patrick’s Day cocktails, such as Irish Whiskey and Irish Mule. 1. Middleton Irish Mule
Fans of winter cocktails such as a Moscow Mule will love this St. Patrick’s Day Cocktail with Jameson Irish Whiskey, Middleton Irish Mule.
INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 parts Jameson
- 0.25 part Lime Juice
- 0.25 part Ginger Syrup
- 3.25 parts Ginger beer
- Wedge of lime
DIRECTIONS
Fill a shaker with ice. Add Jameson Irish Whiskey. Add lime juice. Add ginger syrup. Shake and strain into a copper mule mug. Add ice and fill up with ginger beer. Add a flourish of green with a lime wedge.
2. Ginger Lime Mojito
INGREDIENTS
- 3oz Sparkling Ice Ginger Lime
- 1.5oz White Rum
- 10 mint leaves
- Lime wedge, for garnish
- Mint sprig, for garnish
DIRECTIONS
In an ice-filled Collins glass, add Sparkling Ice Ginger Lime, rum, and mint leaves, then stir. Garnish with a lime wedge and mint sprig and serve.
2. Gin Fitzey
Gin Fitzey INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 oz of Gin
- Simple syrup
- ½ Lime (sliced into 3 wedges)
- Splash of Sparkling Ice Lemon Lime
- Lime (garnish)
DIRECTIONS
Add gin, simple syrup, and lime wedges to shaker. Muddle. Add ice. Shake and strain into chilled glass. Add a splash of Sparkling Ice Lemon Lime. Garnish with lime twist.
3. Ginger Sage Cocktail
INGREDIENTS
- 1 bottle of Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG
- Simple Syrup
- 1 cup honey
- 3 cups of water
- 2 whole pears, peeled, cored and diced
- 1 large piece of ginger, peeled and diced
- 20 fresh sage leaves (plus more for garnish)
DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan, combine the honey and water over medium heat and bring to a light boil. Turn the heat down to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the honey has dissolved completely. Add the pears, ginger and sage leaves. Simmer, stirring occasionally until the mixture has reduced by 1/3 (about 15-20 minutes). Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for an additional 10 minutes. Strain the syrup into a large canning jar or thick glass bowl. Discard the ginger and sage leaves.
Place a few pieces of the cooked pear into each stemless wine glass followed by 2 tbsps of the simple syrup. Add Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG and serve. SERVINGS: 8-10
4. Ginger Jello Shots
INGREDIENTS
- 16 oz Sparkling Ice Ginger Lime
10 limes - 1 cup vodka
- 2 packages unflavored gelatin
- 2 tbsp chopped mint
DIRECTIONS
Cut the limes in half lengthwise and scoop out the insides, set to the side. In a saucepan, add Sparkling Ice Ginger Lime, sprinkle gelatin over and allow to sit for 2 minutes. Place over low heat and stir until dissolved, about 5 min. Remove from heat and stir in vodka and mint. Pour mixture into lime halves and place into the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set. Cut limes in half to serve and enjoy!
5. Cucumber Lime & Basil Prosecco Spritzer
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lime juiced
- 4 basil leaves
- 4 cucumber slices
- Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG
DIRECTIONS
Muddle lime juice, basil, and cucumber in a shaker glass. (For extra flavor infusion allow mixture to marinate in the fridge for at least one hour). Add ice and shake the mixture. Strain the juice only (about ½ oz.) into a Prosecco glass. Top with Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG and garnish with a basil leaf and cucumber slice.

6. Spicy Sparkling Margarita
INGREDIENTS
- 2 parts Blanco Tequila
- ½ part Cointreau
- 3 slices of Jalapeño pepper
- Juice of 1/8 lime
- 1 ½ parts Sparkling Ice Lemon Lime
DIRECTIONS
Shake Tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and peppers with ice. Pour into rocks glass with salted rim, slice of Jalapeno and lime wedge. Top with Sparkling Ice Lemon Lime.
7. Irish Coffee
INGREDIENTS
- 1/3 parts Demerara and Muscovado sugar syrup
- 1 part Jameson
- 1 part lightly whipped double cream
- 3 parts medium roasted espresso coffee
- 1 vanilla pod or cinnamon for garnish
- Fresh grated nutmeg
DIRECTIONS
Dissolve 2 parts Demerara sugar and 1 part Muscovado sugar in 3 parts of boiling water for the syrup. Stir sugar syrup into Jameson in a warmed glass. Whip chilled double cream lightly until it starts to stiffen. Brew a shot of coffee into the glass from your espresso machine. Reload and brew in a second shot.
