When you hear Disneyland, you may think it’s just for kids. And while it has an obvious appeal to little ones, there is a lot about the Disneyland Resort that makes it a wonderful vacation destination for adults! My friends at Get Away Today are stopping by to share the reasons why you should consider visiting Disneyland in 2019, no matter your age or who your travel companions are.

4 Magical Reasons to Visit Disneyland
Table of Contents
For those that visit me often, you already know I’m all about family, and that’s why I’m also a Disney fan to the end. As a mom to 5 adult children (and their spouses / significant others) and now 8 grandchildren, we’ve had some over-the-top amazing Disney experiences. My first one was at Walt Disney World (Orlando) when my oldest daughter was just 3 months old — and let’s just say that was a few decades ago.
Since that first Disney experience, I’ve returned dozens of time to both Walt Disney World, Disney Springs, and Disneyland, including one amazing Disney Dream cruise — both with and without children. And as my friends at Get Away Today mentioned, Disney isn’t just for kids – adults enjoy Disney experiences too.
So drum roll, please…Here are 4 reasons to visit Disneyland in 2019 – and beyond! (Yes, I was channeling my inner Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story Land.)
1. Spring Savings
First of all, Disneyland savings are pretty incredible right now. In fact, at Get Away Today the prices are the most deeply discounted we have seen in a very long time. If you combine our low Disneyland ticket prices with our Anaheim area hotel specials, you can save $500 per more on select vacation packages with travel from now until May 23, 2019*.
Want to know where those savings come from? Check out some of the exclusive Get Away Today discounts below:
Four 3-Day Park Hopper (for travel between now and May 23, 2019) are discounted $111 each with the Get Away Today spring savings special. Additionally, select Anaheim area hotels are 25% off when booked in a vacation package.
And since Get Away Today works with some of the best hotels in the business, we’re also able to secure our guests free parking, free breakfasts and Extra Nights Free on 3rd or 4th nights in select packages. With all those savings, you could enjoy a few extra treats at the Resort!
2. Get Your Ears On: A Mickey and Minnie Celebration
2019 marks the year when everyone’s favorite mouse couple is celebrating 90 years! Disneyland is currently throwing a huge party for Mickey and Minnie, known as Get Your Ears On: A Mickey and Minnie Celebration. No end date has been set, so traveling sooner rather than later will make it less likely that you’ll miss out.
The Get Your Ears On Celebration is an opportunity to enjoy new events, food, and merchandise at the Disneyland Resort. Participate in the family-friendly dance party Mickey’s Mix Magic, or watch the reimagined Soundsational Parade during the day. Collect new Mickey and Minnie themed merchandise like charms, bags, dresses and more in Downtown Disney. And definitely, don’t overlook the numerous new menu items that pay homage to Mickey and Minnie through the years.
3. Disney California Adventure Park Food and Wine Festival
Since the Disney Food and Wine Festival has gained in popularity, it will have its longest run ever in 2020! Disneyland Food and Wine Festival 2020, opens at Disney California Adventure Park on February 28 extending through April 21, 2020. Some events are no additional charge (with a valid Disneyland Resort ticket), but others do require advance registration and additional fees.
Chefs of all ages visiting the Food and Wine Festival are invited to participate in cooking demonstrations and tastings; young chefs are even welcome to cook something up with Chef Goofy!
The Marketplace will also be open to all ages, with prices varying at participating vendors. This will be a place to enjoy food and drink from around the world, as well as cuisine local to California.
4. Star Wars Land Celebrates One Year in 2020
Finally, after months of anticipation, Disney released that Star Wars Land Disneyland (unofficially known as “Star Wars Day”) opened to the public on May 31, 2019. We’ve got the details on the opening, and Galaxy’s Edge attractions, food, and merchandise.
While the May anniversary is too late to travel with Get Away Today’s spring saving specials, you can still visit the Disneyland Resort and experience Star Wars Land any season of the year! And here are some highlights:
- Galaxy’s Edge is a place that has never before existed in the Star Wars universe and promises to be an immersive experience. It’s rumored that the more you interact with characters in the land, the more varied your personal experience will be!
- You can get a sneak peek into Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland right now! When you ride Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, the last stop puts you in Galaxy’s Edge.
- Galaxy’s Edge will feature two new attractions, character interactions and a number of shopping and dining choices.
- Star Wars Land is 14 acres, making it the largest addition to the Disneyland Resort in recent history.

Ahhh, a 90 year celebration! What a cool time to visit! I haven’t been to Disney in so long…
