Although I do enjoy wine, beer, and an occasional mixed drink, life after 50 is a reality check as the battle of the menopausal weight gain is real. But the reality is that I’m not going to give up the things I love — I’m just adjusting the recipes! Cheers to these 5 low-calorie margarita recipes from zero-calorie Sparkling Ice just in time for International Tequila Day, Cinco De Mayo – or just because you can.
If you’re 50, you already know. Our bodies and metabolism just ain’t what they used to be, right? I was lucky — most of my life I could eat and drink to my heart’s content and not gain an ounce. Yeah, those were the days. Yet I still enjoy a good margarita, so the compromise begins by substituting Sparkling Ice (0 calories) for the ingredient triple sec (102 calories) with these 5 tasty low-calorie margarita recipes perfect for any Mexican themed celebration. You read that right! Just that simple substitution saves you 100 calories, which would take a 28-minute walk to burn off.
So sit back, relax and start sipping your low-calorie margarita recipe. You’re welcome!
More about Zero Calorie Sparkling Ice
My 83-year-old mother-in-law is of the generation who does not like water (seriously!), but living in Colorado, she needs to drink plenty of water — instead of the soda pop she loves! We’ve tried so many different flavored waters and Mom did not like any of them. Until her visiting nurse suggested Sparkling Ice. Hallelujah! Now she limits her Pepsi intake to one per day, substituting the more healthy (less sugary) zero calorie Sparkling Ice in many different flavors.
And since Mom likes it so much, when I received an email from Sparkling Ice with the following low-calorie margarita recipes, you know I primed up the blender! (And no…this is not a sponsored post! )
