We’re going to talk about the best places to travel in Southeast Asia, hopefully inspiring you to fit the region into your next big trip. We’ll cover everything from booking a hotel room to specifics about particular regions.
The nice thing about booking hotel in Southeast Asia is generally affordable. If you don’t want to stay in an extremely lavish hotel, you open yourself up to a host of other options that are comfortable, cool, and typically generate great conversation with interesting people. This is true about booking hotel rooms across Southeast Asia.
However, before you find lodging, you’re going to have to decide where you’re traveling to in Southeast Asia.
1. Indonesia
A world-traveler favorite in Indonesia is Bali. People gravitate here to enjoy the marvelous cultural and marine diversity, rice terraces that lace roaming hills and a host of exciting activities to take part in. Bali is 1 of 5 destinations to improve your health and wellbeing.
Bali also offers you the closest access to Australia from the Indonesian islands. If you plan to bounce around a little bit, the island is an excellent place to land before you head up to other Southeast Asian countries, New Zealand, or Australia.
2. Laos
Laos is a country home to stunning temples, rivers, and unrivaled natural beauty. People are friendly, tourism is relatively light there, and you’ll be able to experience most of what the country has to offer if you have a reliable means of transportation.
Participate in kayaking, air-ballooning, and bungee jumping against the backdrop of the country’s natural wonders.
3. Singapore
Singapore is one of the most technologically advanced metropolises in Southeast Asia. If you’re a person who likes liveliness, excitement, and a powerful nightlife, you might want to make a stop to Singapore.
It’s not all spectacles and clubs (although these are amazing!). Singapore is also home to a rich cultural history and beautiful natural scenery.
4. Vietnam
Vietnam is something like a vision come to life. The landscapes, ancient architecture, cultural history, and food are all so perfect and dreamy that they’re hard to believe.
We highly recommend considering a stop in Vietnam before you visit the next country on our list!

5. Cambodia
Cambodia, much like our other Southeast Asian countries, offers a wide variety of things to experience. Many people enjoy trying freshly caught marine life sold by fishermen almost immediately after being caught.
The country is laced with rice paddies, gorgeous coastline, water buffalo, and pepper plantations.
6. Thailand
Although my first and only visit to Thailand was over 10 years ago, known as the Land of Smiles, the country still has a hold of me. So many personal experiences, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures and food, and quite simply a beautiful country.
