For weeks, we’ve all been anxiously awaiting the opening date for Star Wars Land Disneyland. We knew ahead of time it would open in Disneyland before Disney World, and that it would be some time in summer 2019. However, Disney has kept the big reveal from everyone all this time. When does Star Wars Land Disneyland Open?
Finally, after weeks of anticipation, Disney released that Star Wars Land Disneyland will officially open to the public on May 31, 2019. In case you missed it, here are some details about the attractions, food, and merchandise you can expect to see for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Star Wars Land Disneyland: Galaxy’s Edge Attractions

The two anchor attractions in Star Wars Land Disneyland are Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Rise of the Resistance will put guests into a battle between the Resistance and the First Order, while Smugglers Run puts guests in the cockpit of the fastest ship in the galaxy. These two Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attractions definitely back up the claims that Star Wars Land will be an interactive and immersive experience for guests of the Disneyland Resort.
Disneyland Park Admission Required
Regular theme park admission is required to enter Disneyland Park. There will not be a separate ticket for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. To visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park between May 31 and June 23, 2019, guests will need valid theme park admission and will be required to make a no-cost reservation, subject to availability, to access the land.
According to the Disney Blog, Disneyland is anticipating galactic excitement during the opening months this year. While Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be open during normal park operating hours, it will not be included in Extra Magic Hour or Magic Morning at Disneyland Park. For your vacation planning purposes, please be aware that Disney FASTPASS service, including access via Disney MaxPass (at Disneyland Park), will not initially be offered at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Star Wars Land Disneyland: Galaxy’s Edge Food
We are all so excited about the Star Wars themed food coming to Disneyland in 2019! Here’s what is currently known about the different food options in Galaxy’s Edge:
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
From what the experts at Get Away Today have heard, Docking Bay 7 will be like a space hangar filled with food trucks. With how popular food trucks are on Earth, it can only be imagined that intergalactic food trucks will be simply out of this world! Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs will put his skills as Maz Kanata’s chef to good use in his traveling diner Tuggs’ Grub. Look for exotic and unusual dishes from Cookie in Docking Bay 7.
Ronto Roasters
Housed in a recycling podracing engine, you’ll find former smelter droid 8D-J8 overseeing the preparation of meats at Ronto Roasters.
Milk Stand
Find blue and green milk from Bubo Wamba Family Farms here at the Milk Stand. And hopefully, this farm-fresh milk will be available at other vendors in Galaxy’s Edge as well.
Kat Saka’s Kettle
This market stall will sell Outpost Mix, which is a blend of sweet, savory and spicy popcorn, which is always a popular treat in Disneyland! Now you can experience a new, out of this world flavor at Kat Saka’s Kettle.
Star Wars Land Disneyland: Galaxy’s Edge Merchandise
Star Wars Land Disneyland merchandise will be available at various “outposts” in Galaxy’s Edge. Modeled after the Black Spire outpost on Batuu, you’ll find a variety of souvenirs.
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities
If you’re looking for something rare and unique to commemorate your visit to Galaxy’s Edge, stop by Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. A well-known traveler of the galaxies, Dok-Ondar is sure to have something that will catch your eye.
Savi’s Workshop
Work with the Gatherers in Savi’s workshop to customize and build your very own, one of a kind lightsaber. The Gatherers love to pass on their knowledge of Jedi lore and the power of the Force and are anxious to instruct others on the ways of the Jedi.
Droid Depot
Need a companion to travel through Star Wars Land Disneyland with you? Then stop by the Droid Depot to choose various parts to build your very own droid. In Mubu’s workshop, construct a customized droid to take home or on your many journeys through the galaxy.
First Order Cargo
A hangar bay in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will house a temporary landing spot for the First Order. Here members of the Order will be selling gear, uniforms and more for visitors.
Resistance Supply
To join up with the Resistance, stop by this makeshift stall. Resistance Supply will offer uniforms, pins, badges, hats, helmets, maps, tools, training supplies, food rations and more.
Other “outposts” to look for in Star Wars Land Disneyland: Toydarian Toymaker, Creature Stall, Black Spire Outfitters and The Jewels of Bith.
Book Your Stay at Disneyland Resort Hotels
Star Wars Land TIP: Guests who stay at any of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels (Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel) will receive a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (one per registered guest) for travel May 31 – June 23, 2019. So, if you’ve never stayed at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels, now is definitely the time to try one of them out!

Even my daughter – who has never seen a single Star Wars movie – is begging me to take her here!
I know my family would love to go see this. I’m most keen to check out the space hangar filled with food trucks.
Right?! The food part of Star Wars Land looks intriguing…
