Test Driving 2014 Chevrolets

2014 Chevrolet Camero SS Convertible

I recently had the privilege of attending a TravelingMom.com retreat at Walt Disney World, an annual gathering of some of the best moms in the world (in my opinion).  A segment of the retreat was devoted to Chevrolet and OnStar, including an opportunity to test drive a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro and participate in an OnStar Scavenger hunt in a 2014 Chevy Tahoe.

The roundabout outside the conference center at BoardWalk Inn, a Disney resort, was lined with Chevrolets.  SheBuysCars team took the opportunity for a few photos ops.

What’s better than piling into a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible with your best girlfriends?  Um, nothing…and that’s exactly what we did.

With the spring rain hampering our convertible time, Megy Karydes, Becky Davenport, and I piled into the car with Johnny, our Chevy rep, sinking into the made-for-me leather seats. Megy took a turn first, followed by me and then Becky.

We began with the top down, but sadly, the rain won and we detoured to protect the convertible’s interior.

All I can say is wowzie! I haven’t been in a Camero since back in the late 80s, when a mechanic boyfriend lumbered around in a Camero that had seen better days. Talk about a difference the 2014 Chevrolet Camero SS Convertible with its 420 hp —  and me with a lead foot. Although I resisted the urge speed or squeal tires, I loved the power of the V-8, the purring of the motor, and the smooth ride even on tight turns and slight curves.

Chevy Tahoe

I also took a cruise, as the driver, in a 2014 Chevy Tahoe. I’m used to driving in my Ford Expedition so the super-size Tahoe didn’t faze me.  I was impressed again with its degree of handling, and even for a vehicle of this size, tight U-turns and curves were smooth as silk. We fit 5 TravelingMoms (me the driver included) in the Chevy Tahoe with more than enough leg and elbow room.  This would be a greate family vehicle without a doubt.

But me — even as Traveling Grandmom, carting around grandchildren and my multigenerational family, I think I would opt of the head-turning 2014 Chevrolet Camero SS Convertible!

Chevrolet provided the test drives for both the 2014 Chevrolet Camero SS Convertible  and the Chevy Tahoe, but opinions expressed here are my own.
